Support for people who have lost blood-related or fictive kin siblings to violent crime.

Our Mission

Sibling Support Network dedicates itself to the social and emotional care needs of people who have lost either blood-related or fictive kin siblings to a violent crime. We advocate to bring awareness on how the violent loss of their siblings impacts surviving siblings and provide support days for people who have lost their siblings to violent crime by offering various activities and support tools that meet them where they are in their journey. Along with our network partners and participants, we provide surviving siblings with warm connections to resources that can assist them in living a full life. Additionally, we provide training that equips community members with tools to better the places they live and workshops to educate, equip, and strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

Healing is an act best done with support.

How has the loss of your sibling impacted you?

We live in a world that does not believe what a person has been through or what their needs are until they see data. Sibling Support Network is researching to understand how people who lose either blood-related or fictive kin siblings are impacted mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially. This research will help us better understand the needs of the people we serve and what we and other organizations and institutions need to provide to ensure that people who lose blood-related or fictive kin siblings are well.
